If you’re reading this, you’ve probably found yourself wondering, “How do I land a six-figure remote job?” You may even be wondering if such a thing actually exists. Whether you’re looking for more flexibility, hoping to eliminate your commute, or just ready to earn more while pulling up to your desk in your pajamas, rest assured that remote jobs will continue to exist in 2025. Now you just need to get into position for yours when the time comes.

Let me be clear. I know what I’m talking about on this topic. After working 100% remotely for over a decade across multiple companies and helping others land remote jobs since 2015, I’ve gathered some tried-and-true strategies that can help you stand out to remote employers and land that six-figure role remote job that aligns with your strengths, skills, experience, and goals.

I’ll start by sharing how I landed my first remote job because this story holds a powerful lesson. I was working in an office, and as much as I loved my role and the team, life was becoming quite complicated. My dad’s health was declining, childcare as a single mom was draining me completely, and something had to give. I went to my manager and laid it out, saying, “I don’t want to leave, but I need to work remotely.” While she couldn’t move me into a remote position on her team because no such thing existed, she knew someone who was hiring for remote roles.

That connection changed EVERYTHING. My first remote job came from my network, so please let that serve as a reminder of just how critical networking is. You never know who can connect you to your next opportunity. And when it comes to remote jobs, your LinkedIn presence and network are two of your most valuable assets.

  1. Technology and IT: From software development to cybersecurity, tech remains the most prominent industry for remote work. If you have tech skills or are willing to learn, you’ll find no shortage of six-figure opportunities.
  2. Healthcare (Administration and Consulting): Remote healthcare roles, particularly in administration, medical coding, and telehealth consulting, are rapidly expanding. You don’t need to be a doctor to land a well-paying healthcare job.
  3. Marketing and Digital Strategy: Digital marketing, SEO, and content strategy roles are booming. As companies focus on building their online presence, the need for experienced marketers is at an all-time high.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, your LinkedIn profile is your digital business card and it’s critical to landing a remote job. If your profile isn’t optimized to showcase your skills, experience, and potential, you’re missing out on opportunities.

  • Headline: Make it clear that you’re looking for remote work. Use keywords like “Remote Digital Marketing Expert” or “Remote IT Professional.”
  • Summary: Create a solid summary that highlights your experience, remote work skills, and desire for flexibility. Include relevant keywords like “remote jobs,” “work from home,” and “virtual roles.”
  • Engagement: Regularly engage with industry leaders, comment on posts, and share articles relevant to your field. This builds credibility and increases your visibility within your network.

2. Tailor Your Resume for Remote Roles

When applying for remote jobs, highlight the skills that make you a strong candidate for virtual work. This isn’t just about your job-specific experience; it’s about showing you can work independently, communicate effectively, and manage your time.
